Jon "Doc" Meeks 

September 10, 1942 - June 9, 2015.

Jon "Doc" Meeks was born in Roswell, NM and this is where he unexpectedly died.  Jon had begun his Naval career at 17 and retired in 1981 as Chief Petty Officer, Hospital Corpsman, attached to the Marine Corps. He served on the ground with Marines in combat in Vietnam.

These songs were from two gift CDs he sent Ken Cashion.

Song 7 Alabama Jubilee -- With Art Wright - 1915 Song by George L. Cobb and Jack Yellen.  First recorded in 1915 by Vaudevillains Collins & Harlan.

Song 8 Caravan -- With Art Wright - 1936 Juan Tizol did music and Irving Mills wrote the lyrics.  First recorded in 1936 by Barney Bigard and His Jazzopators.

Song 16 Windy & Warm / Struttin' -- With Art Wright  -- "Windy & Warm" was written by John D. Loudermilk (born Mar. 1934).  He also wrote "Abilene" and many other popular songs.  His cousins, Ira and Charlie Loudermilk sang professionally as the Louvin Brothers. ("Struttin'"?.)
